Position: Applications Analyst
Project Management responsibilities (Data ordering, Correspondence, Quality assurance and Training).
The work within Exploration Services (including onshore and offshore projects, world-wide) involved image processing and interpretation as well as generation of maps.
The analysis process used combination of software packages (ERMapper, ERDAS Imagine and Arc/Info) supplemented by data ingestion tools (Unix Shell Scripts and C programs), wind retrieval processing tools (C program) and wind/current drift analysis tools (IDL).
The project work included:
· Data Selection, Programming and Acquisition
· Preprocessing (Data extraction, Calibration, Balancing, Wind retrieval, Scene plots, Geocoding, Quality inspection)
· Image processing and screening, target identification, characterisation and acceptance
· Assignment of slick confidence levels by analysis of slick morphology, backscatter reduction and edge characteristics
· Interpretation Report, Scene and Summary maps

Position:Trainee Geophysicist
Duties: Seismic data processing. Production of standard seismic map sheets and digital data in SEG-Y format.
   
    Geological Mapping of Kazandzik area, Turkmenistan, using Landsat Thematic Mapper data (MSc Dissertation)
The project included application of various image enhancement techniques in order to identify lithologies, map geological boundaries, and interpret stratigraphy and geological structure in the study area. The processing and analysis of Landsat data resulted with:
· Geological map of Kazandzik area, that shows greater stratigraphic and structural detail than any previously published
· New findings regarding the possible presence of hydrocarbon and ground water reservoirs in the study area
